Demo Script

Most demos are product tours. The seller shows everything, asks "so what do you think?" at the end, and wonders why deals stall. The problem is structural: the product was shown before the pain was understood. This skill writes a structured 20-minute demo: Phase 1 earns the right to show anything with three discovery questions. Phase 2 frames what you're about to show before opening the product. Phase 3 shows three features, one per stated pain. Phase 4 closes with a recap-assumption-question structure that surfaces the real objection without inviting a wall of resistance.

2. To write the full script: provide your product, typical buyer, top 3 features, one proof point, and the most common misunderstanding in demos.
3. To write discovery questions only: provide product and buyer profile.
4. To write the close frame only: provide what you showed and the prospect's stated pains.
5. To diagnose your current demo: describe how it flows. Get specific things to cut and why.

Product: Claros — pipeline analytics for VP Sales.
Buyer: VP Sales or CRO at Series B SaaS, 20-100 person team.
Pains: (1) no visibility into where deals stall, (2) pipeline reviews eating 3+ hours/week, (3) forecast always wrong.
Proof: Halved Orion's pipeline review from 4 hours to 45 minutes.

PHASE 1 — PERMISSION AND DISCOVERY (0-4 min)
Permission opener: "Before I show you anything, I want to make sure what I show you is relevant to you. Can I ask three quick questions?"

PHASE 4 — THE CLOSE FRAME (18-20 min)
"Based on what you told me — visibility, review time, and forecast accuracy — here's what this looks like for you specifically..."
"My read is that the pipeline review burden is the one worth solving first. Is that right?"
"What would need to be true for this to make sense to move forward?"
