Rewrites generic JDs into specific, honest descriptions — what the role owns in 90 days, what's genuinely hard, who won't thrive. A-players recognize themselves; under-qualified candidates self-select out.

Works from existing JD or scratch · Diagnoses what each generic line signals to strong candidates

Every generic JD line is a signal to excellent candidates that you don't know what you're looking for. Strong candidates read job descriptions like buyers read pricing pages — they're looking for signals that tell them whether this is a serious company with a real plan, or a company that copied its JD from a template. "Results-driven self-starter in a fast-paced environment" tells them: template. "You'll own the full sales cycle from first call to signed contract, primarily into mid-market SaaS companies" tells them: these people know what they're hiring for. Paste this prompt into Claude or ChatGPT. Share the existing JD (or describe the role from scratch). The AI rewrites it with what the hire will own in 90 days, what's genuinely hard, who won't thrive, and a salary range — the parts most JDs skip.

  1. Click "Copy prompt" above and paste it into Claude or ChatGPT to start the session.
  2. To rewrite an existing JD: paste it and provide context on what the role actually owns, what's hard, and who would fail here.
  3. To write from scratch: share what the role is responsible for in 90 days, what's genuinely difficult (not "fast-paced"), and any must-have signals you've seen in strong candidates.
  4. To diagnose your current JD: paste it and ask for a line-by-line diagnosis of what's generic and what it signals to strong candidates.
  5. Review the "What's hard about this role" section carefully — this is the section most companies skip, and strong candidates read its absence as a red flag.
  6. Verify the [VERIFY] flags before posting — any section where the AI made an assumption needs your confirmation.
Input: VP of Sales role at Series B SaaS, $2M ARR, building outbound from scratch

WHAT THIS ROLE IS:
You're the first sales hire with a VP title. The founder has been closing deals. You're here to build the system that doesn't depend on the founder — outbound motion, qualification criteria, and the first SDR hire within 90 days.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN IN YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS:
· Map all 23 closed deals to find the pattern in who actually converts and stays
· Build the outbound sequence from scratch — ICP, signals, messaging, tools
· Make or defer the first SDR hire with a recommendation and criteria

WHAT'S HARD ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The founder is still in every deal and has strong opinions about how to sell. You'll need to earn the right to change the playbook by first understanding why it worked. This is not a role for someone who needs clean process to operate in.

WHO WON'T THRIVE HERE:
Someone who needs an SDR team to hit their number before they've built the motion. Someone whose last company had a mature sales org and a full enablement function.
